'Tis the Season Christmas bead and wire tree sculpture
Normally I make some limited edition colour themed Christmas trees each year but mixing it up a bit for 2024 with this one off childhood happy memories kinda tree.
My inner child was full of joy making this one, both for the tree and the proud wee snowman beside it.
The tree was made in a slightly different style this time, using clusters of two cut beads on the branches to create a more pine effect. Some white clusters were added in using frosted ab coated seed beads to create a sense of frost or snow on the branches.
Usually the spiralled roots remain completely uncovered but on here, the edges have been given a subtle brush of white to give that freshly fallen snow look. As always with the Christmas trees, it's topped with a Swarovski crystal AB star and decorated generously with glass round beads in different colours and sizes.
The snowman and snow on the rectangular slate base was created with modelling putty which was painted white then given a coat of Snow by Culture Hustle, an eco non plastic glitter which has been varnished to protect it all. The 'coal' eyes, mouth and buttons were made from faceted glass beads and the twig arms were created with the wire left over from trimming the roots.
Twysted together with antique copper coloured copper wire.
Tree including base sits at 15cms / 5.9 inches in height
